Falken Mountain Lodge is a privately owned 90 m² mountain home in Björnen, Åre, with three separate bedrooms for up to six guests. It suits biking groups who want a private sauna, washing machine, drying facilities, a fully equipped kitchen and private parking with EV charging after days in Åre Bike Park or on the trails around Björnen. Outside the ski season you can book from two nights.

Downhill in Åre Bike Park

Lift-served downhill riding in Åre takes place in Åre Bike Park, run by SkiStar and located in Åre village by Åreskutan. Falken Mountain Lodge is in Björnen, in the eastern part of the Åre valley – you do not stay at the downhill lift, you travel there for the day.

Trail riding, XC and e-MTB in Björnen

Björnen is quieter and closer to nature than Åre village. Here the riding is self-powered: trail riding, XC loops and e-MTB in forest and mountain terrain, in an area with a calmer pace and less traffic.

The difference is simple: in Åre Bike Park the lift takes you up and you ride down purpose-built downhill trails, usually on a gravity bike with protection. In Björnen you ride at your own pace, earning the climb yourself or with electric assistance, out in nature rather than inside a facility. Many groups mix the two.

A calmer rhythm with trail riding and XC loops from Björnen, a day or two in Åre Bike Park and rest days with hiking, sauna and cooking. Three bedrooms work equally well for a family or three couples.

Is Falken Mountain Lodge suitable for downhill in Åre?

Yes, as a comfortable base for a downhill trip – room for six, laundry and drying, a sauna and private parking. But the house is in Björnen, not at the downhill lift, so you travel to Åre Bike Park for the day.

How do you get from Björnen to Åre Bike Park?

By car along road 638 through the Åre valley, or by local bus. We publish no travel time or distance we have not verified – check current travel time in your map app and the local timetable before your trip.

What kind of biking is there in Björnen?

Trail riding, XC and e-MTB in forest and mountain terrain, in a quiet and family-friendly area. Lift-served downhill is not in Björnen but in Åre Bike Park.

Is there secure bike storage?

The storage room does not fit bikes. We do not show bike facilities that do not exist – anything added is verified before it is published. Get in touch before booking and we will tell you how biking groups usually solve storage.

Can bikes be brought inside?

No, bikes are not kept inside the house. Contact us in advance and we will go through what applies for your group.

Can you wash and dry clothes?
