The Lodge
A private mountain home, not an anonymous rental property
Falken Mountain Lodge is our private mountain home in Björnen, the calm, family-friendly side of Åre – Sweden's largest ski area. What you book is your own carefully furnished home of roughly 90 square metres within the property. From here you can reach lifts and pistes connected to the whole Åre system, while summer shifts to mountain hiking, trail running and cycling. Three separate bedrooms, an open social living space with a large fireplace and a fully equipped kitchen let six people share the place without living on top of each other.
Built-in storage in the hallway and bedrooms keeps everyday life organised. The terrace faces south-west, with views towards the mountains, the forest and Lake Åresjön. There is a private sauna, fast Wi-Fi, a workspace, private parking and the possibility to charge an electric car.

Ski-out
Put on your skis near the entrance. From there, it is approximately 150 metres of poling or walking with skis to the groomed trail. The trail continues towards Björnen Centre, the lifts and the wider Åre ski area.
Ski-in
From the Copperhill lift, follow the marked route on the map back towards the house. The final section leads to the area by the entrance.

A quiet base in Björnen — all of Åre within reach
Falken Mountain Lodge sits on a quiet cul-de-sac in Björnen — the calm, family-friendly side of Åre, especially appreciated by families with children. In front of the lodge there are only treetops, mountains and Lake Åresjön, yet lifts, ski rental, restaurants and services are just minutes away.
Björnen offers 18 slopes, mainly green and blue – with a direct connection via Sadeln to the entire Åre ski system with a total of 89 slopes. Åre village with more restaurants and après-ski is about ten minutes away by car or ski bus. In summer, hiking trails, running and mountain biking take over.

Åre consists of three ski areas: Åre village, Åre Björnen and Duved/Tegefjäll. The same SkiPass is valid across the whole destination.
In the area
Björnen centre is just a couple of minutes' ski away, and there you will find both ski school and ski hire when the family is getting ready. After a day on the slopes, a late lunch or a cosy dinner at Lilla Tyrolen or Restaurang Sadeln is a good choice if you don't feel like cooking at home – and on really bad-weather days, parents can just as easily stop for après-ski or book a massage and spa at Copperhill. In winter you can rent equipment for alpine and cross-country skiing, and when the snow melts the area switches over to hiking, trail running, downhill and gravel biking.
The lifts connect Björnen with Åre, Tegefjäll and Duved, so one SkiPass covers the whole system. From here you stay in a quiet, family-friendly mountain setting with no through traffic.
Getting here
Åre is easy to reach by Åre Östersund Airport (approx. 85 km), SJ train to Åre or ski bus in Åre. Read more about getting here →

The social heart of the lodge
The open living area brings the fireplace, the dining table and the view into one room. The kitchen is fully equipped with fridge and freezer, dishwasher, microwave and cooking equipment for eight. A smart TV and fast Wi-Fi take care of the evenings that stay indoors.

About your host
Hi! My name is Oliver
I am the host of Falken Mountain Lodge — and it is also my own mountain home. Skiing is closest to my heart, but depending on the season the skis are swapped for a bike, boots or climbing gear.
I wanted the opposite of an impersonal rental: a real home where it feels as good to come back after a long day outside as it does to stay in when the snow is drifting.

Frequently asked questions
Yes – Falken Mountain Lodge is true ski-in/ski-out accommodation in Åre Björnen. You glide home on a groomed trail from the Copperhill lift right to the entrance. Heading out, you pole or walk about 150 metres to the groomed trail, and from there it is two minutes of skiing to Björnen Centre. Subject to snow conditions.
During the ski season (13 Dec – 1 May) we normally rent full weeks with Sunday changeover. Outside the season we are flexible and also offer shorter stays. We do make exceptions — especially at short notice or for gaps between bookings — so send your enquiry anyway.
About 3 minutes by car or 15 minutes on foot. On skis it is two minutes of skiing on a groomed trail. From there you reach the entire Åre ski system — Björnen, Åre village, Tegefjäll and Duved are linked by lifts, pistes and the ski bus.
Final cleaning, Wi-Fi, electricity and private parking are always included. Bed linen and towels can be rented for a small fee. Firewood for the fireplace is often provided, but availability cannot be guaranteed.
Check-in from 4 pm and check-out by 10 am. During the ski season, changeover day is Sunday.
The entry code is emailed automatically 7 days before arrival, together with the practical information for your stay. It is personal to your booking and valid from check-in at 4 pm until check-out at 10 am.
Up to six guests in three separate bedrooms: two 160 cm double beds and one bunk bed — perfect for families and groups of friends.
Yes, the home has its own sauna for 5–6 people and a large bathroom with a spacious shower.
Yes, the lodge has a dedicated parking space. Charging an electric car is possible.
