Falken Mountain Lodge is a privately owned 90 m² mountain home in Björnen, Åre, for up to six guests in three separate bedrooms. In late summer and autumn it suits hiking, trail running, trail riding, family half-term weeks and combining remote work with the outdoors. Stays from two nights, with flexible arrival days outside the ski season.

Autumn as its own season

The birch forest turns, the air is clear and the trails are far quieter than in high season. Days are still long enough for big outings, but evenings are dark enough for a fire and a sauna.

Hiking, trail running and trail riding

The same terrain at three different speeds. Hiking for day trips, trail running for those who want to move fast and light, and trail riding in Björnen's calmer surroundings.

Lift-served downhill in Åre Bike Park is possible while the lifts are open – opening hours vary between seasons and should be checked with SkiStar.

Autumn half-term for families

Three separate bedrooms, a full kitchen and two toilets make the half-term week easy for one family or two. Short outings by day, sauna afterwards and cooking together in the evening.

Remote work from the mountains

Fast Wi-Fi and a dedicated workspace make it possible to work in the mornings and be outside in the afternoons. Sunday to Thursday is usually quietest – and outside the ski season the arrival day is free.

Sauna, fire and a slower pace

A private sauna and open fireplace, a south-west facing terrace with views of the mountains and Lake Åre, and an area where the evenings are quiet. That is the point of autumn here.
